Professional Continuing Education Credits for
Going Deeper with the White Ally Toolkit: Part 2
For those who attend either the March 8 or March 9, 2019 White Ally Toolkit: Part 1 training and want to spend more time with Dr. Campt learning and practicing his RACE Method for interacting with racism skeptics in a smaller group setting, please join us 1:00-4:15pm, March 9, 2019 for Going Deeper.
The Going Deeper with the White Ally Toolkit: Part 2 training allows trainees to engage the reflective and action methods of the White Ally Toolkit to a significantly greater level of depth. Trainees will reflect on the ways that their own circumstances and response pattern sometimes lead them to less than optimal responses to racism skeptics, as well as what they might do in order to respond more effectively. Trainees will apply the RACE method on a second issue, and do role play exercise to prepare to respond in ways that are more compassionate and persuasive. In addition, trainees will reflect on the people in their lives – skeptics and allies alike – who may be most suitable for them to focus on so that their journey to greater allyship gains unstoppable momentum.
Going Deeper with the WAT: Part 2 training objectives:
- Discuss more details of the White Ally Toolkit's RACE (Reflect, Ask, Connect, Expand) Method.
- Spend more time practicing the RACE Method for being with and talking to a racism skeptic.
- Reflect on and strategize about which allies and skeptics will be most suitable catalysts for their growth in competence with the WAT’s RACE Method.
Going Deeper with the White Ally Toolkit: Part 2 has been approved by the Minnesota Professional Boards for Continued Education (CE) credit for social workers, teachers, and nurses.
CE Certificates for 3 hours of continuing education credit will be provided for $25/trainee.
Please note that it is still necessary to register on the training webpage if you are purchasing CEs.
